Daniel J. Rinchuse, D.M.D., M.S., M.D.S., Ph.D.
Professor and Program Director, Advanced Educational Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
For 45 years Dr. Dan Rinchuse has been involved in clinical practice, orthodontic education and research. He received his D.D.M., M.S. in pharmacology/physiology, M.D.S. in orthodontics and Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Pittsburgh. Before coming to Seton Hill University, Dr. Rinchuse served as professor of orthodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Department of Orthodontics for 34 years. He has authored over 100 scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored the book, "Evidence-based Clinical Orthodontics" in 2012. In addition, he is an editorial consultant for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, The Angle Orthodontist, European Journal of Orthodontics and others.
Tara Kraisinger Cenkner, D.D.S., M.S., A.B.O.
Assistant Professor & Clinical Director
Dr. Cenkner, a native of Greensburg, attended dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University to earn her D.D.S. degree followed by her Master of Science degree from Seton Hill University Center for Orthodontics. Following graduation, she pursued private practice and became a board-certified orthodontist in 2021. She returned to her alma mater as the Clinical Director and Assistant Professor at the Center for Orthodontics. Dr. Cenkner is also Invisalign certified, allowing her to offer many treatment options to patients.
Alan M. Gibbs, D.D.S., Cert. Orthodontics
Assistant Professor of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Gibbs received his D.D.S. degree from New York University and his Certificate in Orthodontics from Columbia University. He taught Interceptive Orthodontics and Growth Guidance at the North Shore University Hospital. Additionally, he was part of the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial teams at both North Shore and Mt. Sinai Medical Center where he was an assistant clinical professor and was honored with an appointment to the Department of Plastic surgery. Dr. Gibbs combines his extensive academic knowledge with practical application from his many years of private practice.
Thomas Zullo, B.Ed., Ph.D.
Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Biostatistics
Dr. Zullo's entire career has been spent in academics and research. In addition to his position at Seton Hill he is Professor Emeritus of Dental Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology from Duquesne University and his Ph.D. in research methodology from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Zullo has published over 100 articles and over 80 abstracts in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of dentistry, medicine, nursing and education.
